Communication Skills for Work and Life NEW

Learn to communicate effectively and fairly in everyday situations (work and home). We will explore the difference between assertion and aggression, and look at techniques such as defining “trigger” situations to help with saying “no”, responding to criticism and being put on the spot. Role play will fast track you to success.

Required Skills
Competence in reading, writing and speaking English.
Teaching Method
Presentations, individual and group work (if safe to do so and desired), discussion, questioning, self-assessment, role play, etc.
You will be able to communicate effectively in different situations at home and work. Importantly you will have gained the skills to identify triggers that lead into ineffective communication.
Materials required
Paper and pen/pencil.
Homework required
Homework between sessions is beneficial and you will be given tasks/challenges and a form to record your experiences.
At the start of the course you will be given your own individual learning plan. Your tutor will record your entry level and together you will track your progress and achievements.

We will support learners to make informed choices about their next steps by providing appropriate individual and/or group information, advice, and/or guidance tailored to need and desired outcomes.
