English For Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

A friendly, informal class for those whose first language is not English. These sessions will cover a range of topics to help navigate everyday life; from first introductions and meeting people to holding conversations and communicating at work. Whether you are a beginner or already have a basic understanding you will work to improve on all areas of the language; speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Required Skills
Be prepared to try to join in with activities and class discussion.
Teaching Method
Group work, practical activities, class discussion, games, question and answer activities.
Learners will improve speaking and listening, reading and writing skills.
Materials required
Pen, paper and a dictionary. Handouts will be provided.
Homework required
Practice at home and in everyday situations is advisable.
At the start of the course you will be given your own individual learning plan. Your tutor will record your entry level and together you will track your progress and achievements.
Progression to
We will support learners to make informed choices about their next steps by providing appropriate individual and/or group information, advice, and/or guidance tailored to need and desired outcomes.
An English Dictionary would be beneficial.
