French - Beginners Part 1
Description
This is term one of a progressive (three term) course starting in the autumn and you will need to register before the start of each term. The course covers situations such as: introducing yourself, talking about your family, jobs, shopping for food, asking for and understanding directions, using public transport, booking a room in a hotel, dealing with restaurants and more.
All four skills will be used: speaking, listening, reading and writing. There will be the possibility to carry out practical tasks as well as to gain an in-house certificate which will acknowledge individual learning.
Required Skills
No experience or previous knowledge of French is required.
Teaching Method
The tutor will be using the 4 skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking - using worksheets, role play and recording tapes.
Outcomes
If you attend all three terms you will be able to communicate in French at a basic level.
Materials required
The course textbook and writing materials. Please do not purchase the course textbook prior to attending the first lesson.
Homework required
It is recommended that you do some study between lessons in order to make progress - 1-2 hours will be of benefit.
Assessment
At the start of the course you will be given your own individual learning plan. Your tutor will record your entry level and together you will track your progress and achievements.
Progression to
We will support learners to make informed choices about their next steps by providing appropriate individual and/or group information, advice, and/or guidance tailored to need and desired outcomes.
