This workshop is an introduction to understanding colour theory and practise painting skills using acrylics. Learners will learn either basic or more advanced colour mixing skills depending on previous experience. We will also discuss elements of composition and paint a simple landscape and learn the skills to paint a simple still-life.

Suitable for complete beginners or those who have not studied art for some years.
Practical demonstrations of art techniques plus one-to-one support from the tutor. Learners are encouraged to discuss and share learning experiences.
A4 sketch book and selection of pencils, HB, 2B, 4B pencils, pens, putty rubber, hard rubber. A3 size cartridge pad - medium to heavyweight suitable for light wash. Lightweight drawing board, gum tape and beginners set of acrylics and brushes. Learners can expect to spend up to £40. Please bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee are provided free of charge but in order to avoid waste we are asking learners to bring their own re-usable coffee cups if possible.
At the start of the course you will be given your own individual learning plan. Your tutor will record your entry level and together you will track your progress and achievements.
We will support learners to make informed choices about their next steps by providing appropriate individual and/or group information, advice, and/or guidance tailored to need and desired outcomes.
