Course Family Learning: Families in the Kitchen - Christmas Stained Glass Biscuits NEW
Description

The price is for one parent/carer/grandparent and one child aged eight upwards. Learn to make biscuits with ‘stained glass’ in them. You will start with a basic biscuit recipe, but then the fun comes when you add the coloured centre. These can then be adapted to thread ribbon through to create hanging decorations or simply display them on a plate, either way we are sure these delicious treats won’t last long!!

Required Skills No specific skills needed, but we will be reading recipes, measuring ingredients and cutting out.
Teaching Method Practical workshop, demonstrations and help on an individual basis from the tutor as required.
Outcomes The adults and children will learn new skills and will be able to safely and confidently make and bake stained glass biscuits.
Materials required A list of ingredients and equipment will be sent out before the day. Don’t forget a box or container to take your stained glass biscuits home. Tea and coffee are provided free of charge but in order to avoid waste we are asking learners to bring their own re-usable coffee cups if possible.
Homework required You will need to shop for ingredients in advance. However, should the course not run due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to take responsibility for the cost of those ingredients.
Assessment At the start of the course you will be given your own individual learning plan. Your tutor will record your entry level and together you will track your progress and achievements.
Progression to This year we have introduced a selection of workshops to inspire families to explore learning together. Check out Family Learning at www.aclearning.org.uk. For adults, our A-Z course listing can be found at www.aclearning.org.uk. We will support learners to make informed choices about their next steps by providing appropriate individual and/or group information, advice, and/or guidance tailored to need and desired outcomes.
