Course Cookery: Men in the Kitchen NEW

The aim of this course is to enable learners to produce hearty meals quickly and easily. You will gain skills and confidence in cooking the correct portion sizes and how to store and reheat food safely. Make tasty meals for yourself or entertain your family and friends at home.

Required Skills An understanding of basic health and safety in the kitchen.
Teaching Method Demonstrations, spot demos and discussions.
Outcomes Learners will have the confidence to produce main meals safely and hygienically, whilst considering their nutritional content.
Materials required An ingredients list will be given out every week before the following session. You can expect to spend approximately £5-£10 per week. Basic equipment is provided in the school kitchens, but you may like to use your own for familiarity. You will also need to bring a tea towel, washing up liquid, dish cloths and containers to transport your food home.
Homework required You will need to shop for ingredients in advance. However, should the course not run due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to take responsibility for the cost of those ingredients.
Assessment At the start of the course you will be given your own individual learning plan. Your tutor will record your entry level and together you will track your progress and achievements.
Progression to We will support learners to make informed choices about their next steps by providing appropriate individual and/or group information, advice, and/or guidance tailored to need and desired outcomes.
