Course Cookery: Indian Feast for Friends NEW MENU
Description

Indian food is becoming the nation’s favourite! Join us and prepare a set menu of five delicious dishes suitable for entertaining friends or family. Learn how to use herbs and spices to achieve a delicious home-cooked taste and gain confidence to prepare Indian food at home. Indian food is particularly good to share with friends as the flavour improves after resting for some time or even overnight. Using all natural ingredients, you will discover how healthy and economical Indian home-cooking is and be less quick to reach for the take-away menu!

Required Skills All are welcome, no experience needed, just keen to learn how to cook authentic Indian food, using well balanced spices and herbs to achieve home-cooked food with subtle flavours and taste.
Teaching Method The tutor will explain and demonstrate step by step each dish first and then the learners will follow under her guidance. You will learn about herbs and spices and gain confidence in their use.
Outcomes You will have prepared a range of dishes suitable for a dinner party and gained skills to prepare the dishes again. You will have learned about herbs and spices and gained confidence in their use.
Materials required An ingredients list will be sent out for the day and you can expect to spend a minimum of £20, depending on what you have in your store cupboard. Basic equipment is provided in the school kitchens but you may like to use your own for familiarity. You will need to bring a tea towel, dish cloths and containers to take your food home in as well as a packed lunch. Tea and coffee are provided free of charge but in order to avoid waste we are asking learners to bring their own re-usable coffee cups if possible.
Homework required You will need to shop for ingredients in advance. However, should the course not run due to circumstances beyond our control we will not be able to take responsibility for the cost of those ingredients.
Assessment At the start of the course you will be given your own individual learning plan. Your tutor will record your entry level and together you will track your progress and achievements.
