Description

Dance fitness exercise classes, using a combination of Latin and World rhythms plus pop and chart music to generate a party-like atmosphere – while providing a fun but effective workout.

Zumba® can help you achieve so much towards a fitter and healthier lifestyle, and all while having a great time!! These are really fun and friendly classes, and lots of wiggling, jiggling and giggling! Come along and get sweaty, raise your heart-rate, burn calories, and tone up.

Required Skills Suitable for everybody and every body! No skills or previous experience required. Each Zumba® class is designed to bring people together to sweat it out and have fun. For a slower paced workout try Zumba Gold®.
Teaching Method Easy to follow routines, no advance learning of steps, sequences or routines required, instructor demonstrates steps as the music plays and participants mirror the moves at the same time. The aim is to keep moving throughout the whole class, no stopping and starting to break down steps, so the workout benefit is maximised during the hour class.
Outcomes Body fitness improvement and feel good factor. Enjoyment.
Materials required Wear comfortable exercise clothing, trainers essential. Bring water bottle and small towel. Bring along any medication/treatment required (eg asthma inhaler). No additional items required, although Zumba® clothing and accessories (eg belly dance hip scarf) can be purchased if wished - entirely optional.

Assessment At the start of the course you will be given your own individual learning plan. Your tutor will record your entry level and together you will track your progress and achievements.
Progression to We will support learners to make informed choices about their next steps by providing appropriate individual and/or group information, advice, and/or guidance tailored to need and desired outcomes. You could improve your fitness levels by attending subsequent Zumba® Fitness courses, or why not try Indian Dance, or Yoga for relaxation?
