Course Spanish - Un poco más de Español - Improvers

This is a progressive three term course from September, and you need to register before the start of each term. Learners may join at Term 2 or 3, depending on ability. The course will revisit the basics of the language and take students forward to develop their ability to speak, understand replies and experiment with reading and writing in Spanish; to broaden vocabulary and its uses in new contexts; to extend grammatical knowledge; to use the past and future tense. Each topic will be widely linked with a vibrant cultural approach.

The taster option will allow you to come for two weeks to experience the course. If you choose to continue, the cost will be deducted from the full course fee.

Required Skills For learners who have completed a beginners Spanish course or similar (very basic knowledge of the language) who would like to build on their knowledge.
Teaching Method The course is intended to be enjoyable and fun for everybody and in a relaxed atmosphere. A variety of methods will be used in order to accommodate the different learning preferences of students, including: role-plays, individual, pair and group-work, explanations and demonstrations, games, questions and answers, reading comprehension, listening, watching short videos.
Outcomes On completion of the three terms, learners should be able to: Recognise familar words and very basic phrases concerning themselves, their family and immediate surroundings when people speak slowly and clearly; follow simple instructions; understand familiar names, words and very simple sentences; find specific, predictable information in simple everyday material such as advertisements, prospectuses, menus and timetables; interact in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities.
Materials required Please do not purchase any textbooks until you have been advised by the tutor. If you purchase items in advance and should the course not run due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to take responsibility for the cost of those materials.
Homework required Tutor will set weekly tasks to reinforce learning. It is recommended that you do some study between lessons in order to make progress.
Assessment At the start of the course you will be given your own individual learning plan. Your tutor will record your entry level and together you will track your progress and achievements.
Progression to We will support learners to make informed choices about their next steps by providing appropriate individual and/or group information, advice, and/or guidance tailored to need and desired outcomes. This is a progressive three term course.
