Fees

Trial Sessions

One week trial sessions (non obligatory) are welcomed, space permitting, and learners will need to let us know in advance if they intend to take advantage of this. However the only way to guarantee a place is by enrolling as we are unable to turn away paying learners whilst awaiting the decision of trialling learners.

Taster Sessions

There is a small fee to pay to attend taster sessions – this will be deducted from the full course fee if you decide to enrol on the full course. You are guaranteed a place on the course if you choose this route.

CONCESSIONARY

Learners undertaking courses are entitled to concessionary fees where certain conditions apply. Evidence will be required in order to claim these concessions. If the right to a concessionary fee changes during the course, then we shall reimburse learners on a pro rata/termly basis. The examination fees are fixed and cannot be reimbursed. The concessionary fees criteria are as follows:

On SFA FE funded courses leading to a qualification we offer concessionary rates, with no charge for tuition, to the following:

  • Individuals in receipt of income based Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG) for skills training in order to help the individual into work or to remove a barrier to getting the individual into work.
  • An individual who has not reached GCSE level C or above in English and Maths undertaking GCSE English and Maths. Age 19+ learners are required to pay the examination fee.
  • 17-18 year old learners not in any form of education including apprenticeships.

Learners who are eligible for free tuition need to pay a £100 voluntary deposit to show their commitment. This deposit will be returned on completion of the course unless a learner

  • stops attending within 42 days
  • has an unauthorised absence of two consecutive weeks
  • has a total of five unauthorised absences
  • does not undertake appropriate coursework/assessments
  • does not attend the exam.

On SFA ACL funded non-qualification courses we offer 20% discount on tuition fees for those listed below. There is no reduction in any assessment fee.

  • Individuals in receipt of income based Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG).
  • St Ivo school staff.
  • St Ivo school pupils. Discounts do not apply on courses just for young people.

There is no age related concession for people aged over 60 on any of our courses. Likewise, 16-18 year olds can choose to take a non qualification course (subject to any assessment body rules) but they will have to pay the appropriate fees.
